Just a quick follow-up on a couple of recent posts — notably, Round-up of Good News About Austin, 04/19/11, and Austin #1 for jobs, 05/03/11 — I was happy to see this new article in the Austin Business Journal today:
Texas ranked third most competitive for business
This is not gloating, but simply reporting. Indeed, I would love to see business expansion gain momentum in California, and nationwide. I have noted many times that even with many local and regional economic strengths, Austin’s continued economic success — generally, and our real estate business specifically — ultimately depends on a come-back in the states that have suffered most during this recession. I am bullish on Austin, but this is not an “us vs. them” topic. This is most definitely a case in which we ‘re all in this together, and I wish great prosperity for all Americans.
