Round-up of Good News About Austin

I have spent a lot of time touting the strengths of the Austin area over the past couple of years, and trying to educate my clients and blog readers about important distinctions between the Austin/Central Texas real estate market and the dismal news we keep reading about our nationwide circumstances.  My Austin Market Dashboard was created for exactly that reason (and will be updated this week when final March data is released).  In addition, I have posted many articles naming Austin at or near the top of various rankings.

With that background, I was very happy to see that the Austin Business Journal has assembled a great summary of all the good news:

Austin ranks high for, well, just about everything

Best city to live in, second best for finding a job, one of the top “moved to” cities, among the top job-generating cities, top 10 for quality of life, and on and on.  There are a lot of great places in this country — and I would be thrilled if Austin was closer to a beach — but Central Texas has a lot going for it. 

As for the real estate business, I am very thankful that I have been here for the past several years rather than working through the worst that this recession has dealt.
