A few days ago I posted “What do you get for the ‘median price’?” and discussed the very large differences in price per square foot from one part of town to another. That post focused on the $200,000 price range, but there are areas where it is difficult to spend that much, and others where it is almost impossible to spend that little. Today, I’m providing a look at all sales in the Austin metropolitan area over the past 90 days, sorted by MLS Area (click image to enlarge):
Looking at all sales adds high and low price extremes that were not in the earlier sample of sales near $200,000. This data shows even more clearly the huge variations around the metro area — Sold Price/SF in today’s sample ranges from $13 to $992!
